Parr<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Parr Instrument Company<\/strong> wurde 1899 in Champaign, Illinois, als Standard Calorimeter Company von <strong>S.W. Parr<\/strong>, Professor der Universit\u00e4t von Illinois, gegr\u00fcndet. Prof. Parr entwickelte ein vereinfachtes Ger\u00e4t f\u00fcr die Heizwert-Messung von Kohle zu einer Zeit, als solche Ger\u00e4te noch nicht allgemein erh\u00e4ltlich waren.<\/p>\n<p>Damals war man der Ansicht, dass nutzbare Kohle nur aus den Kohlenrevieren im Osten der USA kommen k\u00f6nnte. Das \u201eKalorien-Messger\u00e4t\u201c \u2013 Kalorimeter &#8211; sowie andere Treibstoffpr\u00fcfger\u00e4te haben dann zur Entwicklung eines Marktes f\u00fcr umfangreiche bitumin\u00f6se Kohlenvorr\u00e4te in Illinois beigetragen. Die Fertigungsanlagen der Standard Calorimeter Company wurden 1911 nach East Moline, Illinois verlegt. Sp\u00e4ter, w\u00e4hrend des 1. Weltkriegs, bezog das Unternehmen ein neues Firmengel\u00e4nde in 222-52nd Street, Moline. Dieses beherbergte nicht nur die Kalorimeter-Produktion, sondern auch die Gie\u00dferei f\u00fcr eine Reihe von s\u00e4urebest\u00e4ndigen Edelstahllegierungen. Diese Legierungen wurden von Prof. Parr in erster Linie f\u00fcr die Anwendung in Parr-Kalorimetern entwickelt, wurden aber auch an\u00a0 andere Nutzer verkauft.<\/p>\n<p>1927 schloss sich die Standard Calorimeter Company mit C.F. Burgess Laboratories of Madison, Wisconsin, zu einer neuen Firma mit dem Namen Burgess-Parr Company zusammen. Dieser Zusammenschluss endete im Jahr 1933. Burgess behielt dabei das Edelstahllegierungen-Gesch\u00e4ft, die Kalorimeter- und Laborger\u00e4te-Produktion verblieb bei der neu gegr\u00fcndeten Parr Instrument Company mit Harold L. Parr, dem Sohn des Unternehmensgr\u00fcnders, an der Spitze. W\u00e4hrend des 2. Weltkriegs fertigte das Unternehmen im Auftrag von Milit\u00e4rlieferanten hochpr\u00e4zise Maschinenteile. Die Produktion von Kalorimetern und anderen Laborger\u00e4ten wurde fortgesetzt, war aber durch die beschr\u00e4nkte Rohstoffverf\u00fcgbarkeit begrenzt. In den Nachkriegsjahren f\u00fchrte das Unternehmen eine neue Produktlinie von Labordruckbeh\u00e4ltern und Anlagen f\u00fcr die Durchf\u00fchrung von chemischen Reaktionen und Analysen unter Hitze und Druck ein, die bald zu einem schnell wachsenden Teil des Unternehmensgesch\u00e4fts wurde.<\/p>\n<p>Mit inzwischen \u00fcber 100 Jahren Erfahrung auf diesem speziellen Gebiet hat sich Parr Instrument Company einen ausgezeichneten Ruf erworben und wird von Chemikern und Wissenschaftlern weltweit als zuverl\u00e4ssiger Anbieter von hochwertigen Laboranlagen gesch\u00e4tzt.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Parr Instrument Company wurde 1899 in Champaign, Illinois, als Standard Calorimeter Company von S.W.
