CONFIRMED

Parr Instrument Company’s technical expertise was requested by Discovery Channel’s MythBusters television program to help provide data for one of their myths. The myth in question was if a rocket could be fueled with gummy bears or fecal matter. The MythBusters team contacted Parr for help determining the calorific values for each potential fuel.  A calorimeter is the instrument of choice when experimentally determining the energy release of solid and liquid fuels.

Parr’s Calorimeter Product Manager Steve Lierly visited the set of the show in California to run tests with Parr’s newest calorimeter, the 6050 Compensated Jacket Calorimeter. Mr. Lierly and the calorimeter appear in MythBusters “Rocketmen” episode which originally aired on February 20, 2016.
